PPWO and 90 Employer Organizations Urge Trump Administration to Abandon Biden-Era Overtime Rule

On March 18, the Partnership to Protect Workplace Opportunity and 90 other employer organizations sent a letter to the Trump administration urging they abandon their defense of the Biden-era overtime final rule in court.

The following can be attributed to PPWO spokesperson Ed Egee:

“The Biden administration’s overtime final rule would have resulted in millions of workers losing their status in the workplace, access to benefits, flexible work arrangements, and career advancement opportunities. The rule would have dramatically increased labor costs for nonprofits, public employers, and businesses and would have exacerbated economic downturns. Two federal courts have already struck down the rule, having recognized that the rule exceeded DOL’s authority. The regulated community urges the Trump administration to abandon its defense of the rule in court to protect workers, small businesses, public employers, nonprofits, and the economy.”
