President of Thomas More College Worries about OT Impact on Student Athletics

In a recent Op-Ed for Inside Higher Ed, David A. Armstrong, President of Thomas More College, a small faith-based college in Kentucky explains the potential impacts of the DOL’s Overtime rule on entry-level opportunities and the athletic department at his institution.

As three chartered buses of Thomas Moore students will soon descend on Indianapolis to watch their women’s basketball team compete for its second consecutive national title, Armstrong’s concerns that athletics programs, “which drive enrollment and are therefore necessary for our survival”, will face tough decisions “including the potential cutting of small-roster sports” illustrates the domino effect of DOL’s proposal.
