The Department of Labor issued its final rule making significant changes to the overtime pay regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The final rule includes two increases to the minimum salary threshold. The first increase raises the threshold from the current $35,568 to $43,888. This 23% increase goes into effect on July 1, 2024. DOL gave the employer community only two months to come into compliance.

DOL’s implementation timeline is arbitrary and extremely burdensome for the employer community. That’s why PPWO urged DOL to delay the effective date to September 1, 2024, but we need Congress to do the same.

ACT NOW and ask your members of Congress to request DOL extend the implementation date to September 1, 2024. Two months is not enough! Join thousands of other employers who are calling for an extension of the effective date!
